Since 1985, the Innovations in American Government Awards program has recognized and disseminated the nation’s most creative and effective government initiatives through widespread press attention and monetary grants.

This year, the Innovations Award is seeking innovative programs, policies, and initiatives specifically related to expanding employment opportunities, skills training and development, job placement and retention, wage advancement, entrepreneurialism, equitable economic development, poverty alleviation, wealth building, and financial literacy and empowerment. Programs and policies that seek to create systemic changes in order to remove obstacles for upward mobility and disrupt structural barriers are encouraged to apply.
