Join us for a lunch conversation with Cecilia Nicolini, MC-MPA 17, Ash Center Research Fellow 18; and Miles Rapoport, Senior American Democracy Practice Fellow; as they discuss how to build a successful voter turnout strategy in the U.S. and Internationally.

Cecilia Nicolini is an international consultant with more than 13 years of experience working with governments, politicians and organizations in Latin America and Europe.  She has managed a presidential campaign, advised governors and mayors and ran elections for an international organization.  She is currently a Research Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation where she producing a case study about direct democracy, participation and the role of technology in urban politics.
 
Miles Rapoport, a longtime organizer, policy advocate, and elected official, is a Senior American Democracy Practice Fellow at the Ash Center. Prior to his appointment to the Ash Center, Rapoport was most recently president of the independent grassroots organization Common Cause. For 13 years, he headed the public policy center Demos. Rapoport previously served as Connecticut’s Secretary of the State and a state legislator for ten years in Hartford. He has written, spoken, and organized widely on issues of American democracy. He was a member of the Harvard class of 1971.
 
The Ash Community Speaker Series features discussions with students, faculty, fellows, and alumni whose research or other academic work is supported by the Ash Center. The series is a forum to discuss new ideas, innovative work, and ongoing projects that are related to the Ash Center's mission to make the world a better place by advancing excellence and innovation in governance and public policy through research, education, and public discussion.
