Monday, April 15, 2019, 6:30pm

Weiner Auditorium, Taubman Building, Room G-1, Harvard Kennedy School

Join the Ash Center, Women and Public Policy Program, and David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies for a screening of ¡Las Sandinistas! followed by a Q&A with Director Jenny Murray, moderated by Francisco Brown MDes CC 2019 and Ricardo Sanchez MC/MPA 2019.

¡Las Sandinistas! explores the untold story of the women who fought in war on the front lines of Nicaragua's Sandinista Revolution to bring about social and political reform for their country. Despite their sacrifice, battlefield victories and in many cases extraordinary leadership and power during the Revolution’s early days, their battles for equality continue to the present day.

Today, as the current Sandinista government is erasing these women's stories of heroism, social reform, and military accomplishments from history books, these same women are fighting to reclaim history - and are once again leading inspiring popular movements for equality and democracy.
