“PerformanceStat” (aka Compstat, aka Citistat) has received considerable attention, nationally and at the Kennedy School, from public executives and policymakers interested in producing results by using data to analyze and motivate better performance. As with any promising leadership strategy, however, the challenge is implementation: How can leaders adapt PerformanceStat and make it work for their particular institution?

Come get an unvarnished look at the promise and the pitfalls of PerformanceStat from leaders with first-hand experience implementing it in their city, state, or agency.
