Ash Center Student Speaker Series

The Innovation Field Lab — a spring course and field project — immerses student teams in real-world challenges. Led by Professor Jorrit de Jong, HKS Lecturer in Public Policy and Faculty Director of Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, IFL places students into the inner workings of municipal government for the chance to do hands-on work to help local governments innovate. This course is an exciting and unique exercise focused on problem diagnosis, data-analytics, community development, leadership, and management. During this week’s Student Speaker Series, members of the past students, summer fellows, and member of the teaching team will highlight the work accomplished in previous semesters and what to expect from Spring 2017.

About the Series

The Ash Center Student Speaker Series highlights and explores the implications and lessons learned from the research projects or applied learning experiences of Harvard University students supported by the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. Each week, we invite two students to offer brief remarks on their work, or a response to one another’s work, and then open the table for discussion. The series will take place each Friday at noon in the Ash Center foyer, 124 Mount Auburn Street, Suite 200-North. Lunch will be provided.
