Date:

Tuesday, October 2, 2018, 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Location:

Ash Center, 124 Mount Auburn St., Floor 2, Room 226

Join Miles Rapoport, Senior Practice Fellow in American Democracy, for the second session of a study group titled, "Elections 2018 Through the Practitioner’s Lens."

Elections 2018 Through the Practitioner’s Lens

The 2018 elections will not just be a question of who wins and who loses; they will be a stress test of America’s democratic processes. Issues of election safety, voting access, the new wild west of campaign finance and redistricting will have major impact for the future. This Study Group will feature experienced practitioners-- people and organizations fighting for secure, inclusive, and fair elections-- who will share their perspectives and their work.

Session Two- Voter Suppression, Voter Expansion: Who’s Winning?

Every day brings news stories of the fight between those seeking to open up access to every citizen, and those seeking to restrict and limit the vote. Where do these contending efforts stand, and what can we expect? Alexis Anderson-Reed, Executive Director, State Voices; and Jon M. Greenbaum, Chief Counsel and Senior Deputy Director, Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights under Law.
