Location:

Ash Center Foyer, 124 Mount Auburn St., Floor 2, Room 226

Join Miles Rapoport, Senior Practice Fellow in American Democracy, for the third session of a study group titled, "Elections 2018 Through the Practitioner’s Lens."

Elections 2018 Through the Practitioner’s Lens

The 2018 elections will not just be a question of who wins and who loses; they will be a stress test of America’s democratic processes. Issues of election safety, voting access, the new wild west of campaign finance and redistricting will have major impact for the future. This Study Group will feature experienced practitioners-- people and organizations fighting for secure, inclusive, and fair elections-- who will share their perspectives and their work.

Session Three- Money, Dark Money, and the 2018 Elections

Money is pouring into elections at every level.  Does it always win?  Can it be stopped?  What innovative efforts are being made to limit the destructive impact of Big Money? Ellen Weintraub, Vice Chair of the Federal Election Commission, and Stephen Spaulding, Chief of Strategy and External Affairs for Common Cause, will join the group in discussion.
