The Habibie Center, the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, and Kemitraan: The Partnership for Governance Reform are deeply saddened by the news of U Ko Ni's assasination at Yangon International Airport after having just returned from a trip to Indonesia.

President Obama formally announces opening of Fulbright University Vietnam

Hanoi – Yesterday President Obama formally announced that Fulbright University Vietnam will begin operation in the fall of 2016. In remarks at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi, President Obama said “now that the government of Vietnam has granted the necessary license, we can say that Fulbright University Vietnam -- this country’s first nonprofit, independent university -- can move forward and open its doors and welcome its first class this fall.”

Ash Center announces agreement with China's Ministry of Science and Technology

Cambridge, MA -- Today the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, a leading research center at the Harvard Kennedy School announced it has signed an agreement with China's Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) to bring up to two senior level Ministry officials to Cambridge as visiting scholars at the Center starting in the fall of 2016.
