Hanying (Kristine) Li
Kristine Li is a China Public Policy Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ash Center of Harvard Kennedy School. Her research focuses on political economy, local governance, and state-society relations in developing contexts with a regional focus on China. In particular, her work uses large-scale archival data, in-depth interviews, and ethnographic and statistical data to study how deliberations shaped market formation and market development in China at the subnational level. She holds a M.A. in East Asian studies from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in political science from Brown University. Prior to joining the Ash Center, she was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Brown University.
