Izzy Gainsburg

Izzy Gainsburg is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ash Center of Harvard Kennedy School. He has two primary lines of research. In one line, he examines predictors of and barriers to environmental behavior in China, with a focus on the paradox that Chinese environmental concern is high but environment-focused donations are low. In his second line, he focuses on how emotional regulation affects moral judgments and behavior, and in particular, strategies to promote more equitable and effective altruistic behavior.

Dr. Gainsburg also has experience as a lecturer in Negotiations at the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business. Before coming to Harvard, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Ross School of Business. He completed his PhD in social psychology at the University of Michigan and his BA in psychology at Tufts University.
