Mengyao Li is an Asia Program Visiting Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the Harvard Kennedy School. Ms. Li is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the Peking University School of Government. She received her bachelor's degree in Economics from the School of Economics and Management at Wuhan University. Her research interests primarily focus on public policy and the politics of budgetary process, as well as attention on the role of institutions in contemporary China. At the Ash Center, Ms. Li plans to conduct research on policy innovation and diffusion in China’s social policy, and explore how political actors influence the decision-making process, especially in China’s political system.
