Dr. KANG Xiaowen is an Associate Professor at the Energy Research Institute (ERI) of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and at the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research (CAMR). He has worked at the Center for Energy Economics & Development Strategy of ERI and has engaged in policy research of energy. During this time, he visited LBNL and RMI. He has finished about forty research projects, such as Reinventing Fire: China,, A Roadmap for China's Revolution of Energy, etc. He has received nine awards for excellence from NDRC and the National Energy Administration (NEA). Most recently, he has engaged in work on electricity market reform and governance, as well as energy economics, such as the Study on the Policy and Mechanism of Building a Clean, Low-Carbon, Safe and Efficient Energy System. Beyond these specific topics, his recent research interests are in complex networks and the information economy. Right now, he is analyzing and verifying the rules of Expected Mirror (EM) in evolution of individual decision, group culture and governance structure.
