Isabella Picón is a Venezuelan pro-democracy activist and organizer. She has an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and an MSc in Politics and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science (Chevening Scholar). She has organized several initiatives to promote electoral and social mobilization, primarily through her work as co-founder of Labo Ciudadano – a nonviolent action collective founded in 2017 during the 4-month protest cycle against the Maduro regime, and by founding Toma El Control, a voter participation platform that sought to engage youth in the 2024 presidential campaign. She has done research on the collective action frames used by the Venezuelan pro-democracy movement in its different protest cycles (her master’s thesis), as well as on women insider mediators (with the Berghof Foundation). Isabella is also part of the Institute for Global Leadership Initiative at the University of Denver and a United World College alumna (UWC Adriatic 2006-2008).
