Claire Simon
Research Assistant, Democracy and the Informed Public
Program Involvement
Claire Simon is a sophomore at Harvard College, concentrating in Social Studies. Originally from Washington, D.C., she is interested in understanding how digital media shapes participation in American democracy, particularly among young people. Her professional experience includes serving as Communications Director and Election Projects Chair for the national youth-led nonprofit Gen-Z for Change, as well as working with organizations such as HeadCount and Public Citizen. She also conducted research with the Democratic Erosion Consortium in the spring of 2024. As a research assistant for the Transparency and Election team of the Ash Center’s Informed Public Project, she’s excited to bring a perspective rooted in youth-centered political communications and civic engagement.
