Katharina Liesenberg is research assistant and PhD candidate at Technical University Darmstadt. Her research focuses on contemporary democratic theory, political representation and inequality. In her dissertation she deals with the relation of theory and practice in democratic theory and develops an Deweyan pragmatist account of democracy, reflecting on the societal preconditions of democracies.
She holds a Masters degree in Political Theory from Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and Technical University Darmstadt. She is co-founder and board member of two non profit organizations focused on sortition-based participation and has conducted various mini publics all over Germany.
