Marissa Young

Program Involvement
Marissa Young is a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) candidate at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her professional and academic interests include health communication and behavior change. She received a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from George Washington University Milken Institute of Public Health and a Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management and Health Communication from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
Prior to her graduate studies, Marissa worked at the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project in Washington, DC, where she conducted outreach and trainings on domestic violence, cultural competency, and language access. She subsequently shifted to the healthcare advertising sector, working in both market access and direct-to-consumer advertising. Most recently, she worked as a behavior science strategist at IPG Health on a portfolio of brands including vaccines and treatments for rare diseases. After completing her DrPH studies, she intends to bring her marketing expertise into the public health field to design health communication interventions that facilitate healthy behavior change.
