With protest movements being challenged in the courts, questioned in communities, condemned by elected officials, and a point of contention on college campuses, this discussion will center on the long and complex history of protest in the United States, spanning movements and leaders. This timely discussion draws from Prof. Browne-Marshall’s new book “A Protest History of the United States,” as well as experts on social justice strategies and on using empirical protest research.
Speakers include:
- Gloria J. Browne-Marshall, Professor of Constitutional Law at John Jay College of Criminal Justice; Author of the forthcoming “A Protest History of the United States”
