B. Andrew (Andy) Brown is a board member of Making Every Vote Count, a nonprofit dedicated to reform of the U.S. presidential election system. His research at the Ash Center will focus on the benefits and liabilities of various electoral reform options, the potential terms of specific reform options, and the politics relevant to the enactment of these proposals. Andy’s faculty advisor is Professor Alexander Keyssar. Andy was an Advanced Leadership Fellow at Harvard during the 2024-2025 academic year. He practiced energy and environmental law at the law firm of Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis for more than 30 years, where he a was a partner, a member of the firm’s management committee, and long-time chair of Dorsey’s Regulatory Affairs Practice Group. He is a graduate of the Duke University School of Law, the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and Stanford University. Before practicing law, Andy served as legislative aide to U.S. Senator Gary Hart.
