Reimagining Democracy Program

Maneesh Arora is an assistant professor of political science at Wellesley College. His book project, Parties and Prejudice: The Normalization of Antiminority Rhetoric in U.S. Politics, analyzes the role of social norms in the current racialized political environment in the U.S. and is under contract with the University of Chicago Press. His research has been featured in prominent media outlets such as the Washington Post’s Monkey Cage blog, Public Seminar, and the London School of Economics’ United States Politics and Policy blog, and published in such scholarly journals as Perspectives on Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and Journal of Women, Politics, and Policy. He has been a research affiliate of the Mesopolhis Center in Sciences Po-Aix and the Taubman Center at Brown University.

Maneesh earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Irvine in 2019, an M.Ed. from Boston University in 2014, and a B.S. in environmental studies from the University of Oregon in 2012.
