Tommaso Picciotto
Democracy Visiting Fellow, AY2025-2026

Program Involvement
Tommaso Picciotto is a Democracy Visiting Fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard Kennedy School.
A senior strategy executive, Tommaso combines academic training in philosophy and political science with his experience in the private sector to explore the relevance of political strategy-making in modern democracies.
Engaging directly with political actors, his research examines how political parties develop their programs, and how different approaches impact electoral outcomes. Specifically, the research investigates how the adoption of reactive, tactical methods may have contributed to the decline of traditional parties, and considers how proactive, strategic approaches might counter present trends of public disillusionment in democracy.
A recent graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School (MC/MPA), he holds an M.Sc. in Comparative Politics (London School of Economics), and a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics (University College London).
