Joshua Weitz

Joshua Weitz is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His specializes in comparative party politics and business and politics, with a substantive focus on challenger parties and political change. He is a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Peace, Democracy, and Development, a Research Associate at the Academic-Industry Research Network (theAIRnet), and has previously worked as a Research Associate at the William R. Rhodes Center for International Economics and Finance at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University. He has a forthcoming monograph coauthored with William Lazonick and Philip I. Moss, and several solo-authored articles under review. His book project, Seizing the State, is a comparative study of challenger parties in interwar Europe, focusing on Ireland and Germany. He completed his PhD at Brown University in 2025.
