Program Involvement
Lily Wainaina is a Program Coordinator at the Ash Center, where she supports the Democracy and the Informed Public Program. In her role, she manages program operations and leads the planning and execution of convenings and events that bring together leaders across sectors to address challenges related to democracy, information, and transparency.
Lily joined the Ash Center from the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, where she was a Program Coordinator for the Program on Emerging Technology, Scientific Advancement, and Global Policy, with a focus on artificial intelligence. She has also held roles at Harvard Kennedy School supporting communications and media operations. Earlier in her career, Lily worked at The Nature Conservancy, where she supported legal operations, including budget management and event coordination.
Her professional experience includes program management, stakeholder engagement, and event planning across policy, communications, and nonprofit sectors. Lily holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
