Building a Digital Democracy with Audrey Tang and Megan Smith

Join us for an upcoming Institute of Politics (IOP) JFK Jr. Forum event “Building a Digital Democracy” co-sponsored by the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy. This panel conversation will feature speakers Audrey Tang, Megan Smith, Danielle Allen, and Mathias Risse.

This is an in-person event and is open to Harvard ID holders. This event is co-sponsored by the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, Allen Lab for Democracy Renovation, and the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard University.

Abstract

Around the world, innovative developments in digital civic infrastructure are being created to advance the public good and build thriving democratic societies. Drawing from global, U.S., and municipal examples, panelists will explore how technology is being used to transform political institutions, civil society and political culture to support more representative, transparent, responsive, and participatory democracy and how these infrastructures can be designed to protect individual human rights and democratic systems.
